Tempo is a camera utility. It is designed to work without collecting personal data on our servers.
Tempo does not ask you to create an account. We do not run analytics, ads, or third-party trackers in Tempo as described here.
Photos and video you capture stay on your device unless you choose to share or export them using normal iOS features (for example, Photos, AirDrop, or other apps you open).
In Faces mode, Tempo uses on-device face detection so it can apply real-time visual effects to the live camera preview (for example, keeping detected face regions visible while the rest of the frame is blurred or masked).
What we process. For that mode only, Tempo uses Apple’s Vision framework on the device to obtain axis-aligned bounding rectangles (position and size in image coordinates) around regions detected as faces. Tempo may also hold short-lived, in-memory values derived from those rectangles (such as smoothed coordinates) so the effect looks stable frame-to-frame. Tempo does not use this information to identify you or anyone else, does not build a face print or biometric template, and does not extract detailed facial geometry such as landmarks for separate storage.
How it is used. Face-derived rectangles are used solely to drive local, real-time preview and capture effects inside the app.
Sharing and storage. Face rectangles and related in-memory tracking data are not sent to Tempo’s servers and are not sold or shared with third parties for processing. They exist on the device while you use the feature and are not written to disk by Tempo as a separate “face data” record.
Retention. Bounding boxes and tracking state are discarded when you leave Faces mode, when detection is reset, or when you close the app; they are not kept after that. If you save a photo or video, you are saving the composed camera output (like any camera app), which may include people visible in the frame—under your control in your photo library—not a separate face-geometry file collected by us.
Processing relies on Apple’s system frameworks running on your device; that processing does not cause Tempo to receive face rectangles remotely.
